Our Bees
Shortly after arriving in Cornwall we went to a local food festival where I met a bee keeper who specialised in Cornish Black Bees. We got into a discussion about honey, the future of bees and all things related.
Ever since that first meeting I have kept Matt and his Cornish Black Bees in the back of my mind. We have now been using Matts wild flower honey exclusively for a few weeks on our breakfast buffet and his more seasonal Heather and Dark tree honey on our Saffron & Honey dessert.
Today we had the amazing experience of moving our own Restaurant Bee Hive into a larger hive for them to establish themselves and start supplying us with Honey, Honey Comb and Bee Pollen for our dishes.
It always amazes me how perfect nature is as we all stared admiring the thousands of perfect hexagons and once we placed the lid back on the new hive all the workers followed the same flight path almost uninterrupted
