Wend your way to Discovery Quay  and beyond for 15th Annual Sea Shanty Festival on Friday 22nd June, for a weekend of sunshine, local ale supping, and hearty foot-stomping shantying. Tune into a sea-loving nautical song-fest, sponsored by Skinners Brewery in support of the RNLI for their tireless year-round hard work in keeping our shores safe.

Falmouth’s associations with shanty-singing harks back as early as the 17th Century with the merchant trade links tied to Falmouth being the third largest natural deep-water harbour. Sailors would see the bay as a welcome sight to conclude many a treacherous journey with good food and plentiful ale in close proximity. Fascinating stories of yesteryear are passed down through generations through the art of the shanty.
