Tregothnan
Located outside of Truro, on the Roseland Peninsula, Tregothnan is the home of the Boscawen family, an estate steeped in history and residence to a thriving tea plantation. Selling its first homegrown tea in 2005, the company was founded by their Head Gardener, now the MD of Tregothnan Tea.
Diversifying into the world of tea brings a unique sense tranquillity and wonder to the already blossoming estate, which also boasts some of the Duchy’s most exquisite gardens. We had the unique honour of wandering the gardens, bathed in glorious sunshine, expertly guided by Bella a true guru of the brand.
Meandering through the enchanting gardens immersed in the scents of rare flora which lay boundary to a deer park you can lose yourself in the moment, before even having set foot in the legendary Tregothnan maze. The estate also proudly owns a large cross-section of woodlands across both Cornwall and Kent and forge a heartfelt commitment to reducing the use of fossil fuels and discovering greener ways to live.
Retiring for gentile refreshments for the afternoon the private tasting session designed by Julie where flavours digressed from herbally infused fragrances such as nettle and berry to everyday classics including earl grey and classic black was a true delight.
