The Great Cornish Food Festival 2014 with Merchants Manor

Our head chef Dale is showcasing his talents at a few prestigious food and drink festivals in Cornwall this autumn and winter.

Our head chef Dale is showcasing his talents at a few prestigious food and drink festivals in Cornwall this autumn and winter. To kick-start in style he will be demonstrating at the newly named, Great Cornish Food Festival.

For the past decade the ‘Cornwall Food & Drink Festival’ has been an annual celebration of all that is Cornish; from family owned bakers & breweries to award-winning chefs that cherish their roots and the produce they grew up on. As it enters its second decade of showcasing the county’s best, the festival has been given the new title it deserves:

This September sees our most beloved celebration of Cornish produce return to Truro as ‘The Great Cornish Food Festival’.

From the 26 – 28 September Truro city centre will be transformed into an all you can eat, drink, try and buy gala. Local producers Sharp’s Brewery and Proper Cornish are heading up the ‘Croust Bar’ this year to create a tantalising offering of traditional Cornish ales and pasties.  You’ll be able to explore dozens of stalls from all over the county and discover what it is that’s put Cornwall on the food lovers map.

To accompany this platter of award-winning produce, throughout the weekend is a packed timetable of trail blazing chefs that will be demonstrating exactly how to use the beautiful produce on sale around us. Headlining this back-to-back show of talent is award-winning chef and festival advocate, Nathan Outlaw.

More than 30 chefs and food experts will be taking part over the course of the weekend, including our very own head chef Dale McIntosh. Get yourself down to Lemon Quay for 2pm on Saturday to watch Dale’s live demonstration, he’ll be showing us how to make the most of a beautiful Cornish chicken – using everything from the beak to the tail!

This is a FREE event, so there’s no excuse not to come down and enjoy all of the fabulous food and drink that Cornwall has to offer!

The Great Cornish Food Festival is organised by our friends over at ‘Cornwall Food & Drink’ – for more information on this wonderful weekend visit their website or the festivals dedicated web page:
