Saltash Regatta & Waterside Festival 2015

One of the most colourful waterside events in Cornwall, the Saltash Regatta is the most popular regatta in South East Cornwall.

One of the most colourful waterside events in the county, the Saltash Regatta is the most popular regatta in South East Cornwall. This exciting regatta and waterside festival is held over the weekend of the 27th and 28th of June in Saltash, Cornwall. 

The Saltash based Caradon Pilot Gig Club run Gig racing on both days of the regatta, with sailing, canoeing and a bit of swimming taking place as well. The Mixed and Veterans Pilot Gig Championship is the main feature of the Regatta. This event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, alongside an event for junior level contenders. This is a really accessible event, with fantastic views of the contenders racing up the river. If you are more hands on and not the spectator type, and are interested in trying out your hand at some sailing, Saltash Sailing Club will be offering sailing taster sessions on Sunday the 28th. 

The Regatta is not only about water sports, it is also a waterside festival. There is a huge amount going on ashore to keep everyone from all age groups entertained. From street entertainers, children’s ride to a full programme of music of all types at the live music festival there really is something for everyone.
