In some cases the best location may be somewhere that means something to you both, it may not stand out to others but to you, it’s perfect.
If you don’t have a particular spot in mind, worry not. Cornwall has a wealth of stunning scenery; long golden beaches, beautiful gardens and unique landmarks. To name every breath- taking, romantic place to propose in Cornwall would take all day, so here are just a few of the Manors favourites!
St. Michaels Mount
Stoll barefoot across the causeway as the tide laps against your toes to discover this wondrous island surrounded by sea, sand and gardens. Once you’ve explored the islands castle and church, retreat to the alcoves above the rocky shores and take in the striking sunset from this unique landmark.
This one is of course very close to our hearts. Just a 5 minute walk down the hill from the Manor is Falmouth’s beautiful bay. Walk the South West coastal path winding between beaches that hug the shoreline as you make your way across the seafront. Pack a picnic to enjoy as you take in the panoramic view of the harbour, St. Mawes Castle and the open Atlantic.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
For those of you with green-fingers this majestic plot of land is perfect for couples to lose their selves for a day. Heligan spans over 200 acres, boasting several plantation zones including The Jungle, Wildlife area and the romantic Pleasure Grounds. Ponds, rich greenery and seclusion make for the perfect day of intimacy.
Stretching from Falmouth Bay to the old port of Gweek, the Helford River is a delightful unspoilt estuary that’s fed by a number of small creeks. It is home to a wide spectrum of beaches, ports and wildlife. A timeless area; over the years these waters have played host to a number of writers and occasions. Hire a small boat and explore all it has to offer and you’re sure to get the answer you were looking for.
Considered to be the prettiest of Cornwall’s cliffs and coves, Kynance is truly one of a kind. Its turquoise waters and white sands transport you to somewhere you might find in the Caribbean. Its dramatic cliff face, caves and dotted islands make it a wondrous stop-off on the South West coastal path.
