Spring

An explosion of daffodils, camellias and blossoms, spring comes early in Cornwall. The longer, brighter, warmer days are filled with promise, while the town, gardens and beaches bustle with a host of enticing events.

Get out and about, shake off the cobwebs and celebrate the onset of spring in Falmouth’s beautiful spaces, coastline and gardens. From Paint The Town Yellow Day – which sees thousands of daffodils adorn the town – to flower shows, children’s activities, a half marathon and a two-day Folk & Cider Fayre, there’s plenty to keep you entertained.

Experience the theatrics of cinema like never before. Collaborating with Falmouth University’s Fashion and Textiles Institute, Scary Little Girls invites you to celebrate the glitterati of cinema’s golden age in an intimate evening of storytelling, performance, presentations and film. The Poly – Falmouth’s independent arts centre and cinema – is also well worth checking out whenever you’re here; its lively programme serves up a bounty of independent film screenings, theatre, comedy, exhibitions, discussions and much more besides.

Fal River Festival

Hop on one of the many boats buzzing up and down the Fal to discover this stunning river and its fascinating history. The 10-day festival encompasses over 150 events, from music, drama and art to gig racing, swimming, walking and lots more, taking place in over a dozen locations.
