Fal River Festival

The Fal River Festival is an amazing non-profit event that is running over 10 days, starting on Friday the 22nd and finishing on Sunday the 31st. The Festival combines local traditions with the arts, music, events and even a swim.

Castle Swim

The 1 mile castle to castle swim takes place on the open water on may the 30th. Run by the RNLI, the swimmers will start at Pendennis Point in Falmouth and finish at St Mawes Castle. Only 450 swimmers are allowed, if you’d like to take part please book online here: Castle2Castle.

Foodie Favourites in Falmouth

If food is more your cup of tea there are some great events taking place which you won’t want to miss, especially the Cornish Cake Off on May 27th. This event is fun for the whole family and includes demonstrations,tips and tricks to help all budding bakers. If you want to win the crown – cake entries can be entered from May 1st. Other foodie favourites include the Fal River Food and Craft Market on the 23rd and a fish market auction in aid of The Fisherman’s Mission on Monday the 25th.

Family Friendly Weekend Activities

If you are looking for a fun packed family friendly event – this couldn’t be any better. There is a child friendly activity taking place almost everyday including: archery, origami, crafts and printing. Perfect for keeping the little ones amused. Ferry and Film

May 26th is offering the unique experience of watching a film on the big screen, while on a ferry! Sit back while the tranquil waves provide a relaxing atmosphere and watch hit musical Mumma Mia. Tickets are £9 for Adult or £7 for those under 16 but have limited availability. The ferry will go whatever the weather, so be sure to wrap up warm, and importantly – take a seat! Music - The Food of Love

Come and enjoy some incredible jazz, blues and orchestral music in Cornwall. Over the 10 days of the Fal River Festival a number of bands will be playing live music. We’ve have highlighted a few great events to look forward to below but you can find even more here: Music and Drama.

25th May: The Uncommon Orchestra – A Bigger Show
Watch this incredible 22 piece ensemble playing Jazz and Rock oratorio with a classical twist. Ticket £20 or for students and under 16’s £8.

27th May: Jazz On The Quay in St Mawes
From 4pm Jacka Jazz will be playing their own take of mainstream jazz down by the ferries. Please just turn up as this is completely free. 

30th and 31st May: Falmouth Blues Festival
A incredible mix of some of the best blues bands on the Southwest. Head to Falmouth for this two-day festival and enjoy the musical all for free. Band will be celebrating the work of blues, hillbilly and rockabilly music at Falmouth’s Event Square from midday to 7pm.

Enjoy the Fal River Festival, whist having stunning views of Falmouth, elegant surrounds and a restaurant serving mouth-watering meals.
