An espresso and the papers by our roaring fire, cream tea on the lawn or a delectable lunch in our Brasserie. We’ve handpicked some of our favourite treats available from our Brasserie to tempt you…

1) Coffee

We believe in the art of crafting a great espresso. Which is why we serve Origin coffee. A local Cornish company that’s making waves on the national specialist coffee scene, Origin sources the best coffee from around the world and roasts it back here in Cornwall, just 10 miles or so from the hotel. With coffee this good, you’ll find it hard to tear yourself away.

2) Breakfast

After a restful night’s sleep, wake up to a hearty breakfast served in the Brasserie overlooking our award-winning subtropical gardens. Help yourself to a scrumptious spread, including cereals, juices, toast, croissants, and cooked options to order. Whether you’re exploring the Cornish countryside, gearing up for a conference, or hitting the shops in Falmouth, our full Cornish breakfast will fuel you up for day ahead.

3) Lunch

From freshly prepared Merchants soup and Manor salad to griddled Croque Cornwall with local Davidstow cheese, ham and free-range eggs, lunch in our Brasserie combines big flavours, seasonal local produce and friendly service. Our Sunday roasts are quickly earning a reputation as a favourite among guests and locals alike.

4) Cake

No trip to Cornwall is complete without a cream tea. With seagulls wheeling overhead and the tang of salt in the air, our subtropical gardens are the perfect setting to indulge in a Cornish cream tea. Or, for an ultimate Sunday afternoon lazing, snuggle up on our comfy sofas in our elegant Lounge – or find the perfect book in our Library – and wile away a few hours fuelled by tea, cake or hot crumpets.

5) Seafood

We’re passionate about using the finest Cornish ingredients – whether it’s from local foragers, plucked straight from the sea or delivered by one of our many Cornish farmers or artisan producers. So, naturally, our seafood menu celebrates what Cornwall’s wonderful waters have to offer. From Mylor Lobster Thermidor with crab and scallop gratin and lizard leaf salad, to Betty Stogs battered fillet of market fresh fish, savour the diversity and quality of Cornish seafood in the stylish surroundings of our award-winning Brasserie.

6) Cocktails

When the sun’s over the yardarm, join us in the bar to unwind with an array of the finest cocktails. From The Coastal Walk, blending Plymouth’s classic sloe berry gin with a dash of Hendricks finest poured over crushed ice, to the Manor House Martini, we’ve got all the classics – or if you fancy a change, try our own twist on your old favourites. How about a Gale Force Ten?

7) Beer

Our heritage at Merchants Manor has close ties with the brewing of ale. The Carne family, who built the original house, established W & E.C Carne Brewery in Falmouth at the turn of the last century. As one of the first bottlers to use the screw top, their grand abode was affectionately dubbed ‘Screw Top Mansion’ by locals. Continuing the love for quality Cornish ale, today we stock some of Cornwall’s finest, including St Austell brewery’s Tribute & Korev, alongside Skinner’s Betty Stogs and Falmouth’s Black Rock Brewery.
